Before a single board is cut or joined, we'll meet to talk about your intentions and how you envision living with your altar or keepsake box. This conversation is less about design preferences and more about discovering the pieces of your story that will become part of the work.

Your Elements
There is no right or wrong way to approach this process. Some people may arrive with journals full of inspiration, while others simply bring a feeling they can't quite put into words.
You may choose to share music that moves you; poems, prayers, or mantras; meaningful symbols, archetypes, or imagery; places in nature that feel like home; or spiritual or personal practices that shape your life. These elements become the quiet thread woven throughout your piece.
The Ceremony
After our conversation, Mel spends time alone in ceremony with the intentions you've shared.
In prayer around the fire, organic offerings are made as your words, music, memories, and symbols are held with care. Ash from this ceremonial fire becomes part of your piece, carrying the intention of the process into the work itself.
The Making
As the wood is prepared for assembly, your words, prayers,and intentions are burned into the hidden faces of the wood using pyrography. These inscriptions are tucked inside the joinery—present, but unseen—before the piece is glued together.
The ceremonial ash is incorporated during final assembly, creating a lasting connection between the story you've shared and the object that will accompany you for years to come.
Every piece is handcrafted from natural hardwoods and made to become an heirloom—one that carries both beauty and meaning.
